Cause: Injuries sustained when thrown from his horse.
    • On the evening of New Year's Day, reports the Clarence Examiner, George Robinson, a lad of fifteen years, the youngest son of Mr. George Robinson, of Grimsby House, Deep Gully, near Grafton, was returning home from Mountain View, riding pretty fast. When he was about a mile from the Junction, his horse shied, first, it is believed, bringing him against a tree, and then throwing him with violence head foremost on to a log. He was picked up by some people returning to town, and was found to be quite unconscious. Mr. Dunn, the carrier, happening to pass at the time, kindly took him home in his cart. Dr. Houison was sent for, and on his arrival found severe bruises on the forehead and right side of the head, but no fracture of the skull. Blood was issuing very freely from his right ear and mouth, and he had vomited a considerable quantity of bloody fluid. He was quite insensible and every few minutes he had fits, which continued at longer or shorter intervals all the night and during Friday. Dr. Houison remained with the sufferer all Thursday night, and saw him occasionally on Friday. On the afternoon of Friday Dr. Smith was also consulted, but could do nothing, the unfortunate lad continued thus till half-past 3 on Saturday morning, when he breathed his last.
