NEUENDORF--SCHMUNCK.
A very pretty and interesting wedding took place at Minden on the 14th instant (writes our Lockyer correspondent), when Mr. Ferdinand Neuendorf (second son of Mr. F. Neuendorf, of Tarampa) and Miss Anna Schmunck (eldest daughter of Mr. W. Schmunck, of Minden) were united in the holy bonds. The celebrant was the Rev. O. Krueger, of Blenheim, and the ceremony took place at the residence of the bride's father in the presence of about 80 guests. In the prettily-decorated "bridal corner" were first grouped the bridesmaids, Misses Sarah Litzow, Emilie Neuendorf, and Lena Kowalski, each nicely attired, and the groomsmen, Messrs. August Neuendorf and Fred Schmunck. To this spot the bride, tastefully costumed in cream silk, was escorted by her father, by whom she was bestowed. The ceremony was concluded with a most appropriate address. As 12.30 the guests sat down to a beautiful breakfast, and did full justice to the culinary art of Mrs. Litzow and her assistants. The afternoon was spent in games and quiet congenial group conversation. At 8 p.m. a company of about 60 tin-kittlers, in battle array, stormed the fort in an orderly manner, and were kindly treated, and showed their appreciation by an orderly retreat. Being cold and dark the evening was spent within doors. The choirs of the Lowood and Minden Baptist Churches united in rendering some beautiful selections, the singing being interspersed with speeches. At midnight the guests began to take leave, all feeling grateful for the good time spent. The happy couple, who were the recipients of many valuable and useful presents, will shortly settle down on their farm on the Tarampa Estate. [5]
