- The family left Plymouth, England 7 Nov 1883 on board the "Goalpara" which arrived in Cooktown, Queensland, Australia 1 Jan 1884. Some passengers disembarked there and at Townsville, Bowen, Mackay, Rockhampton and Moreton Bay where the Albrecht family disembarked. On 8 January the passengers were put into quarantine on Peel Island.

- LAIDLEY, Nov. 27.- An 89-year-old woman, Mrs Annie Gigler, of Laidley, was killed instantly and two other people were injured when a car left the road and plunged down a 20 ft. embankment at Thornton, near Laidley, this afternoon.
Mrs Gigler was thrown out of the car and her skull was fractured on a protruding rock. Colin Peacock, 38, of Laidley, the driver, received abrasions and severe shock and his wife, Idella Peacock, 37, severe injuries to the left eye, broken collarbone and shock.
