Notes |
- Jemima (Walker) died before James and their children Eliza and William emigrated to Australia. Margaret Colston (nee McPhail) was also on the ship, she and James were married on I July 1852, in London.
Jemima is listed on the 1841 (6 June) census as 'Beimey'. At first I (Jennifer Crockett) thought this was an error, but have since been told (2006) by David Thompson, a Scot & researcher I met at the AIGS, that he had a relative from the Edinburgh area who was named Jemima but was called Bina. He said Beimey and Memma were also used for Jemima.
Jemima is on the 1851 English census as Bemme. She died later that same year in London.
