- The assertion in a newspaper article on Svend Haunstrup and his wife who said her first husband was a flying officer killed in WW1 cannot be substantiated. In fact I suspect that there was no marriage between Ethel Gladys THOMAS and Philip Alfred HENNINGS. The birth registration for their son Ronald Philip HENNINGS shows mother and father living at different addresses. There is a marriage for Philip Alfred HENNINGS in 1895, but that is to Alice Eva Mackay.
