    • FATAL ACCIDENT.
      HIT BY SWINGING GATE.

      HARRISVILLE.-March 19.

Colin Campbell (aged 22), a son of Mrs. W. Campbell, of Milora, was accidentally killed at his mother's home late on Friday night under peculiar circumstances. Mr. C. Wenzel and family, relatives of the Campbells, were spending the evening with them, and on leaving for home at about 10.30 o'clock, Colin Campbell ran to open the double gates for them. After opening one side he was seen to fall, and, on being picked up, it was found that he was seriously injured. Medical aid was immediately summoned, but the lad died a few minutes after the accident. Death was due to a fractured skull, and it is surmised that, in his haste, he was struck by the swinging gate, which caused him to fall heavily. Deceased was of a bright cheerful disposition and he was to have been a competitor in a camp draft on the following day.
