  Married: Advocate (Burnie, Tas. : 1890 - 1954), Tuesday 13 August 1935, page 4 WEDDING BELLS. VINEY-ROWSTHORN. The Penguin Methodist Church was the scene of a pretty wedding on June 25, when Nancy Thelma Bernice, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Rowsthorn, Penguin, was married to Charles Richard, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Viney, South Road, Ulverstone. Rev. L. E. Barnard officiated, and Mrs. J. Yaxley was the organist. The bride made a pretty picture as she entered the church with her father, by whom she was given away. Her frock was of cream silk. The veil and orange blossom were loaned by Mrs. H. Walker, South Riana. Miss Rita Rowsthorn (cousin of the bride) was bridesmaid, and wore a dainty ankle-length frock of pink shabble crepe. A halo of pink flowers was worn as a head-dress, and she carried bouquet of autumn flowers and ferns. Little Willis M'Carthy was cushion bearer, and wore a dainty ankle-length cream silk frock, the skirt being adorned with rows of frills, and the bodice had tiny puff sleeves. A band of flowers made a halo for her hair. The cushion was worked by Mrs. R. Barnes, of Penguin (aunt of the bride). Mr. Allen Viney attended his brother as best man. While the register was being signed Miss N. Ling sang "O Perfect Love." As the bride left the church a horseshoe of white satin was placed on her arm by Miss Gwen Stone, of South Road. About 60 guests were present at the wedding breakfast. The tables were beautifully decorated with bowls of autumn flowers. The large wedding cake was presented by the bridegroom's mother, and decorated by Mr. J. H. Erwin, Penguin. Many valuable and useful gifts were received. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a set of military brushes and the bridegroom's gift to the bride was a gold bangle. The bridegroom's gift to the bridesmaid was a crystal necklace, and to the cushion-bearer a gold brooch. The future home of Mr. and Mrs. Viney will be at Penguin. [1]
