    • Marriage Register from the 1st Sunday of Advent 1828 into 1829:
      January 11: bachelor Andreas Paulsen Paÿsen in Stedesand, a legitimate son of the late Paul Paÿsen from there and Trinke, born Johansens, with his bride Margaretha Sophia Ortmann in Stedesand, a legitimate daughter of Johann Friedrich Ortmann in Rantrum and Anna Christina, born Marquardsen from Bredstedt.
      Both the bride and groom were fortunate to have survived the pox epidemic. Apparently the groom contracted some kind of pox, and witnesses mentioned were Paul Paÿsen and Christian Nissen from Stedesand. It looks like the bride had "Schutzblattern," which looks like protection against the pox, perhaps an inoculation, and had a "Vaccinations-Attest," a certificate of vaccination, dated December 10, 1812, from Großenweihe, NW of Bredstet.
      The banns of marriage were published for the bridal couple on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sundays of Advent, and they were married thereafter.
      Peter Paÿsen from Stedesand was the witness for the groom, and Christian Nissen was the witness for the bride.
