      Bowls Australia is saddened to learn of the recent passing of former Australian and Commonwealth Games representative Hilda Pochon late last week.

      During a long and decorated career, Mrs Pochon made a significant mark on the world of bowls, becoming just the thirty-first female international bowls representative for Australia.
      Mrs Pochon commenced her Bowling career at Yackandandah, Victoria before moving to South Australia to continue to ply her craft, where she represented her state and country with distinction during the 1986 Edinburgh Commonwealth Games in the women's pairs, teamed with Beryl Godfrey, displaying great sportsmanship in trying conditions to finish the tournament in ninth position with four wins and six losses.

      Mrs Pochon passed away on Saturday, January 14 at the age of 87.
