      LEWIS-ATKINS
The Church of Christ, Invermay, was the scene of a very pretty wedding last Saturday evening, when Evelyn Alice, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. J. Lewis, Albion-street, Invermay, was married to Donald George, elder son of Mr. and the late Mrs. George K. Atkins, Jutland-street, Mowbray Heights. The ceremony was performed by Pastor F. T. Morgan.
The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a lovely gown of magnolia satin, which featured a high neckline and full sleeves, finished with unusually wide cuffs. The very full skirt fell into a graceful train, which was edged with pleated tulle. The beautiful tulle veil was held in position by a coronet of three Christmas lilies. The trailing bouquet was of Christmas lilies, white roses, gypsophila and maidenhair fern.
Two sisters of the 'groom, Misses Iris and Dorothy Atkins, attended the bride. Their smart frocks were of pale blue satin backed crepe.
Sergt. W. Atkins, A.I.F., attended his brother as best man, and Mr. Don Churchill, R.A.A.F. was groomsman.
The bride's uncle was organist, and during the signing of the register Mrs. W. Brumby sang "My Prayer"
The reception was held at the New Grotto, where the bride's mother, Mrs. G. Lewis, was frocked in saxe blue marocain, with navy hat and matching accessories. The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Atkins, chose a navy frock with navy sheer coat to match and navy hat trimmed with blue.
The three-tiered wedding cake was made by Mrs. K. H. Pitt, aunt of the bride and decorated by Mr. L. Lewis, bride's cousin.
When leaving for the honeymoon Mrs. Donald Atkins was wearing a dusty pink frock and black velvet hat with pink bows. The honeymoon is being spent in Hobart. [3]
