      Tuesday.
      Late Mrs. Gehrke. - The death occurred on September 16 of Mrs. Carolina Amelia Augusta Gehrke, at the age of 81 years. She had suffered a great deal for about 26 years and was unable to go out of the house for seven years, the last 18 months of which she was bed-ridden. Born in Muttrin, Germany, she arrived in Australia in 1883 and for three years lived in the Wallon district, afterwards coming to Hatton Vale, where she since lived. Her husband died about 17 years ago, and since that time the late Mrs. Gehrke lived with her son, Mr. Wilhelm Gehrke. She leaves a sister, Mrs. Zischke senr., Hatton Vale, two sons, Messrs. Albert, Summer Hill, and Wilhelm, Hatton Vale, and one daughter, Mrs. C. Kleahm, Toogoolawah, besides 20 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. The funeral took place on Tuesday, September 17, and the large attendance testified as to the respect in which the deceased lady was held. The interment took place at the Hatton Vale Apostolic Cemetery, the last sad rites being performed by the Rev. O. A. Niemeyer.
