    • MARBURG.
      Monday.
      Death of Mr. G. Breitkreutz.
      The death occurred on Wednesday at his residence, Marburg, of Mr. Gustav Breitkreutz, a well known and respected resident. He had been ailing for some time. Mr. Breitkreutz had reached the age of nearly 70 years. He was born on September 17, 1861, in Stieglitz, Posen (Prussia) With his parents and three brothers he left his native land at the age of 19 years. Sailing on the ship Kanarte they landed in Moreton Bay in the year 1881. He proceeded to Ferney Lawn, now known as Fairney View, where he learnt his trade as a wheelwright with Mr. F. Klatt. He proceeded to Mutdapilly, where he worked in partnership with Mr. August Kruger. In 1885 he was married to Miss Anne Mocker, Fairney View; later they lived at Minden where they remained for a few years. Thence they came to Marburg, where he resided till the time of his death. During his stay in Marburg the late Mr. Breitkreutz worked with the late Mr. J. Codd, also with the late Mr. J. O. Ernst. For the last 27 years he has carried on his wheelwright's work with Mr J. H. Verrenkamp. He was a Sunday School teacher at the Marburg Lutheran Church for about nine years. He leaves a widow and grown up family of seven daughters and three sons, with 19 grandchildren. The daughters are--Mrs. J. Zechen and Mrs. C. Dance (Marburg), Mrs. A. Althaus (Haigslea), Mesdames Summerville (2) and F. Ridgway (Ipswich), and Miss Ena Breitkreutz (Marburg). The sons are: Messrs. Ernest and William (Wowan), and Arthur (West Australia). Two brothers survive him, Messrs. August (Ipswich) and William (Brisbane). The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon and was largely attended. Rev. Temnme conducted services.
