    • DEATH OF MRS. C. F. C. ARNDT.
Many friends (writes a correspondent) will no doubt be sorry to hear of the death of Mrs. Arndt, who, after a long and severe illness, passed away quietly at her residence, Park-street, Lowood, on Thursday, the 22nd instant, at the age of 44. For a number of years Mr. and Mrs. Arndt kept the Royal Hotel, and about two years ago settled down in their nice commodious dwelling in Park-street, and commenced a store business. Mrs. Arndt's disposition was a very cheerful one, and, having won many friends, she will be much missed here, especially by those who so well knew her great sociableness and many kindnesses. She was always ready to help where help was needed, being a devoted true friend to the poor, sick, and needy. Until the time of her death she bore up marvellously well, though not able talk much at the last. Mr. and Mrs. Arndt lived very happily during the whole of the 18 years of their married life. Her aged mother is still alive, and resides at Fernvale. The Rev. G. Smith, Methodist minister at Lowood, assisted by Mr. C. Adermann, of Vernor, conducted the burial service. The funeral cortege was a large one. The remains were interred in the Fernvale Cemetery, the hymn "Asleep in Jesus" being sung. Mr. Arndt and the other relatives have our deepest sympathy and prayers in their sorrow.
