    • THE LATE MRS. DREWS.
There passed away at Lowood early on Saturday morning another very old and highly respected resident of Lowood, Mrs. Louisa Clara Drews. Mrs. Drews was formerly Miss Stark, and was born on October 18, 1847, in Stargartt, Germany. On November 11, 1866, she married Mr. Carl Drews. They then emigrated to Australia, and lived in various places, for the longest period at Mt. Beppo, and later at Lowood. After 69 years of happy married life (having celebrated their golden and diamond wedding), Mr. Drews died at Lowood on November 24, 1926. After the loss of her husband, Mrs. Drews lived with her daughter, Mrs. O. Weise, at Lowood, and then returned to her own home in the township, where she has been ill for the past three years. Although she suffered a great deal, she was always cheerful and was attended regularly by Pastor L. Doehler. Relatives and neighbours gave great attention to her for some time before she passed away. She attained the age of 81 years and 10 months. She leaves a family of four sons and three daughters: Messrs. Joseph, Reinholdt (Brisbane), Leopold, Harry (Esk), Mrs. Friske (Kingaroy), Mrs. H. Linke (Mt. Beppo), and Mrs. O. Weise (Lowood). There are 74 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. The funeral took place at the Lowood Lutheran Church Cemetery, and was attended by a very large crowd. Pastors Wallet (Plainland) and L. Doehler (Lowood) conducted the service at the graveside.
