      WEDDING.

      WELLADSEN - CHEESLEY.

A pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Paul's Church of England, Chiltern, on Wednesday afternoon last, by the Rev. Peake, when Catherine, youngest daughter of Mr Jonathan Cheesley, of Indigo Creek, Barnawartha, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony with Bertie James, youngest son of Mr Neil Welladsen, of Glenbee, Barnawartha North. The bride, who was given away by Mr N. Welladsen (in the absence of her father who was ill), was attired in a hand made dress of white silk. She wore the customary wreath and veil and carried a bouquet of daisies, carnations and asparagus fern. Miss Elsie Welladsen acted as bridesmaid, and was neatly dressed in white floral voile with hat to match and carried a shower bouquet of azalias, carnations and asparagus ferns. Mr W. Welladsen brother of bridegroom, acted as best man. After the knot had been well and truly tied the party drove to the Telegraph Hotel, Chiltern, where Mr and Mrs Smyth had afternoon tea tastefully laid out. The tables were beautifully arranged and the viands were served up in the well known style of the host and hostess. After doing justice to the good cheer provided the party drove to the residence of the bridegroom's parents at Barnawartha where the wedding breakfast was served and a number of appropriate toasts honored. The happy couple left on Thursday morning for the metropolis, where the honeymoon will be spent, prior to their taking up their residence at Toorak. The bride travelled in a blue crepe de chine costume with hat to match. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a gold brooch and bangle and to the bridesmaid a gold brooch. The bride presented the bridegroom with a handsome dressing set. [5]
