      SPILLER.--On December 22nd, at Brisbane, May, the third and dearly beloved daughter of George and Charlotte Spiller, Chatsworth, Gympie.
      Tossed no more on life's rough billow,
      All the storms of sorrow fled ;
      Death hath found a quiet pillow,
      For the faithful Christian's head.

      Young Woman Burnt.
      Danger of Open Fires.
      A young woman named May Spillen, aged 19, employed as a domestic servant at the residence of a Mr. Davis, a railway guard, at Musgrave road, Red Hill, was severely burnt about the lower part of the body and legs shortly after 8 o'clock this morning. It appears that the unfortunate young woman was engaged in attending to some clothes which were being boiled over an open fire in the yard, when her clothes caught fire. Archie Davis, a son of the Mr. Davis abovementioned, succeeded in extinguishing the flames with a bag. First aid was rendered by the ambulance, who afterwards conveyed the sufferer to the General Hospital. An examination of the patient at the institution named showed her to be in a very serious condition.
