    • RECENT WEDDINGS

      Spiller--Turner

The Presbyterian Church, Woolooga, was the scene of the marriage on June 24 of Edna Veronica Maud Turner, youngest daughter of Mr. and  Mrs. J. R. Turner, of Brooyar, to Wilfred Joseph Spiller, youngest son of Mrs. Spiller, Chatsworth, Gympie. The Rev. Varney officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a trained gown of white crepe-de-chene with cowl neck. Her veil of Brussels net was lent by her cousin, Mrs. Vince Turner, Jnr. She carried a bouquet of eucharis lilies. Misses Dorothy Heath and Iris Reeves, nieces of the bride, were bridesmaids. Their frocks were of pink morocain, with circular frills falling from the waist to the bottom, forming a train. They carried bouquets of pink roses and sweet peas. The bride's brother, Mr. George Turner, Jnr., of Woodlands, was best man, and the groomsman was Mr. William H. Turner, of Kilkivan, cousin of the bride. The wedding breakfast was held at the bride's mother's home. The table was nicely decorated with pink and white streamers. The three-tier wedding cake was made by the bride's sister, Mrs. L. Reeves. Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Spiller spent their honeymoon at Pialba. [6]
