The death occurred at Hoya on Sunday, September 7, of Mr. Carl Frederiche Freiberg, an old and respected resident of the Fassifern district. The deceased, who was in his 83rd year, was born in Germany, and emigrated to this country 50 years ago. He first obtained work at Smith's sawmills, Marburg, and afterwards rented land at Glamorgan Vale. Forty-five years ago, he selected land at Hoya, where he resided till the time of his death. He leaves six sons and three daughters and 32 grandchildren. The funeral, which was well attended, took place at the Lutheran Cemetery, Hoya, Pastor Finger officiating.
