      WEDDING BELLS.

      NIEMEYER-ZIELKE.

A very pretty wedding took place at the Apostolic church on 31st July, the contracting parties being Miss Bertha Zielke, the fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred. Zielke of Woongarra, and Mr. Alfred Niemeyer third son of Rev. H. F. Niemeyer, of Laldley. The church was beautifully decorated for the occasion by the girl friends of the bride. At 10.15 a.m., the church warden rang out the wedding toll, whilst the wedding guests marched up in pairs to the church. Two little dots, nieces of the bride, Miss Josephine Fortey and Miss Hilda Wesche, prettily dressed In heliotrope, were in front of the bride and her father, strewing rose petals from the house up to the church. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father who afterwards gave her away. The bride was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Elsie Fortey, niece of the bride, as chief bridesmaid, who was gowned in cream silk poplin with picture hat to match, and Miss Louisa Zielke, sister of the bride, as second bridesmaid. Mr. Charles Zielke acted as best man, while Mr. Otto Poohle acted as groomsman. The Rev. H. F. Niemeyer performed the wedding ceremony, while the choir sang "Venn Friede mit Gott." After the ceremony, Miss Linda Fortey presented the bride and bridegroom with a satin horse-shoe as a token of good luck. A wedding dinner was served at the residence of the bride's parents, where one hundred guests partook of the good things provided for them. The guests from Laidley were, Mr. and Mrs. Semple, Mr. and Mrs. Stagmon, Mrs. and Miss Floor, Mr. and Mrs. E. Wesche, and Mr. W. Niemeyer, and from Rosedale, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Niemeyer, Mrs. Fred Niemeyer, and Mr. August Rlchter, and Mr. Mrs., and Miss Zampich of Maryborough. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a beautiful gold brooch set with rubys and diamonds, and to the bridesmaids, a neat little brooch each, and also to the flower girls. The bride's present to the bridegroom was a set of gold sleeve links. The bride and bridegroom were the recipients of many costly presents, far too numerous to mention, and included very many cheques. The happy couple left by the afternoon train for their future home in Gayndah. The centre attraction of the breakfast was a beautiful 4-tier wedding cake, the handiwork of Miss Augusta Grotherr, cousin of the bride.

The bride's costume was composed of white charmeuse, the bodice having a V yoke, arranged into folds of point lace over shoulders, and caught with points of charmeuse worked in seed pearls and sprays of orange blossom. The skirt was draped at side, caught with orange blossoms, and the opening at front of skirt was inlet with frill of deep point lace. Deep swathed belt with long end caught with orange blossom. With this charming costume was worn an embroidered tulle veil and coronet of orange blossoms.

The bridesmaids' costumes were of cream silk poplin, simple bodice magyar effect ; vest of net and collar of silk lace, and silk guipure edging. A smart draped skirt open in front, and finished with buttons and soft swathed satin belt, finished with large satin buckle.

The bride's travelling costume was of nut brown cloth, with collar and cuffs of fancy green and brown silk, and buttons, and vest of cream lace. Smart plain skirt with finishings of silk and buttons. This smart costume was worn with smart hat to match.

The costumes were made and designed at the establishment of Messrs Buss and Turner. Ltd. [7]
