      MR ERNEST TRONC

      One who was particularly well-known in the building trade, Mr Ernest Tronc, passed away at the Bundaberg General Hospital yesterday at the age of 59 years. The late Mr Tronc was of French descent and was born at Dusseldorf (Germany). He was only nine when he landed in Australia and lived in the Toowoomba district for 14 years, Sandgate 10 years and Bundaberg 15 years. The deceased gentleman held the position of Foreman of Works in the service of the Department of Works for some years and notable buildings erected under his supervision were the Mt Perry Hospital, Bundaberg State High School, Maternity Ward at the Bundaberg Hospital and various schools throughout the district. In the last six years he was employed by the Bundaberg Hospitals' Board as its Foreman of Works and built the medical superintendent's residence; also acting as clerk of works for the new laundry and kitchen block at the Bundaberg General Hospital. The late Mr Tronc was well-known throughout the district and was held in high esteem. His widow and a family of two sons and two daughters survive him. They are Mesdames R Hay (Bundaberg), and C MacDonald (Cunnamulla), Messrs H Tronc (Brisbane) and E Tronc (Mackay). Arrangements have been made for the funeral to move from St Andrew's Presbyterian Church to-day at 3 pm for interment in the General Cemetery. Mr John Novakoski will conduct the obsequies.
