EDGAR SANKOWSKY
The death occurred in the B.A.F.S. Hospital, West Bundaberg, on Saturday of Mr Edgar Sankowsky, of 96 May's road, aged 66.
Born at Laidley, he came to Rosedale with his parents, his father being a blacksmith and wheelwright there. Mr Sankowsky moved to Bundaberg and for many years was a prominent taxi proprietor. He late acquired an allotment in Bourbong Street, on which he build the Waltzing Matilda Motel.
For the past few years Mr and Mrs Sankowsky have lived in retirement. Mr Sankowsky was active with Bundaberg Lions Club, being a charter member. He also was a member of Sir Augustus Masonic Lodge.
He was married at Rosedale to Miss Jean Williams.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, William (Port Moresby, Papua), Gregory (Sydney), and one daughter Judith (Mrs J. Crocker, Canberra).
The funeral will leave from Christ Church of England today after a service at 2.30 p.m. (F.C.Brown) (Buried 2 Sep 1975)
