      Mr. R. T. Crampton.

The death occurred on Tuesday morning of Mr. Richard Tasman Crampton, at the residence of his son, Mr. Jack Crampton, Byng Street, Orange. The late Mr. Crampton was 80 years of age, and he was born at sea whilst the ship Tasman was coming from England to Australia. His people first settled down in Sydney, but when the deceased was eight years of age they moved to the Carcoar district, where the Cramptons were among the early settlers. After spending years in that district, the deceased acquired the Meadowbank property at Eugowra. Here for many years the late Mr. Crampton followed farming and grazing pursuits. About 19 years ago he retired from active life, and removed to Parkes. In 1920 he went to Orange, and spent the remainder of his life with his sons. For some months he had been ailing, and his demise was not unexpected. A family of two sons and five daughters survive. The daughters are Mesdames A. G. Brown (Eugowra), M. Spalding (Sydney), L. Brown (Sydney), E. O'Brien (Young), and J. Carman (Canowindra) ; and the sons are Messrs R. J. and J. Crampton, of Orange. The body was interred in the Roman Catholic portion of the Orange cemetery.
