    • In the late 1920s and early 1930s he entered the Brisbane Exhibition "One Man Farm Display" exhibit. He secured a place in the competition on more than one occasion. Here is part of the write up in the The Courier Mail for the 1928 Exhibition:

      ONE-FARM DISPLAYS. FIVE ATTRACTIVE EXHIBITS.
As in former years, the one farm exhibits will be one of the most attractive features of the Exhibition.
Though the title, "One Man Farm Display" is invariably bestowed on the competition in which is gathered all that can be grown, made, and used on the farm, and in the household of one single family, when the exhibits are surveyed the conclusion must be reached that mere man was not the contributor of a large proportion of what is included, for there is visible evidence of the capable hands of the women of the household.

      MR. E. J. ROSSOW.

Although unsuccessful when he exhibited last year, Mr. E. J. Rossow, of Mt. Neverest, Nanango, has again came forward with a very attractive exhibit of one farm products this year. Specially featured are natural and artificial grasses, millets, &c, while there is a good collection of maize, 27 varieties of which are shown. Potatoes and vegetables of all kinds, and also citrus fruits, are prominent in the display, also a collection of farm and vegetable seeds, selected from crops grown on the farm. In preserves and honey Mr. Rossow has a fine exhibit. Home cured bacon and hams, in which this exhibitor specialises, are shown to advantage. The general arrangement of the exhibit is very attractive.
