      WEDDINGS.
      LOCKYER-HIVES.
A wedding of considerable interest both to Queensland and Victorian residents was solemnised at All Saints' Church, last evening, when Mr Nicholas Wollaston Lockyer was married to Miss Edna Hay Hives. The bridegroom is the only son of Sir Nicholas and Lady Lockyer, of Toorak, Melbourne and only grandson of the late Sir Harry Wollaston, of Melbourne, and of the late Major Edmund Lockyer, who did so much exploration work in Queensland. The bride is the eldest daughter of the late Mr  G Hives, and of Mrs Hives, Sunday Creek station, Wondai. Rev R W Shand officiated. The bride, who was given away by her uncle Mr Charles Hives, wore a frock of white mariette, mounted over heavy white silk, with the bodice studded with diamante, and fashioned on to the skirt in peaked effect, falling in handkerchief drapes to form an uneven hem. Her Brussell's lace veil which was the gift of an old friend, was held in place with a circlet of orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of white roses, water lilies, and gladioli. The bride's sisters the Misses Mary and Jean Hives attended her as bridesmaids, and they were frocked alike in old gold taffeta, made with triple frills on either side of the skirts, and finished with large hip bows. Their picture hats were of delphinium-blue silk straw, ornamented in front with diamante buckles, and they carried bouquets of blue delphiniums, and water lilies. Mr. Gordon Ridgway was best man, and Mr. Matthew Heath was groomsman. A reception was subsequently held at the National Hotel, where Mrs Hives received the guests. She wore a frock of silk parchment lace, and a pink Baku hat showing a pink rose at the side. She carried a posy of pink roses. The honeymoon will be spent in a motor tour of the Northern Rivers of New South Wales, and on leaving the hotel Mrs. N. V. Lockyer, wore a silver lame cloak over her wedding gown. [4]
