      ARNOLD-ATKINS

      WEDDING

      Ivory Satin Gown

Ivory slipper satin ornamented with Cornelli work fashioned the bridal robe worn by Coral Amy Atkins for her marriage on Saturday last to Lloyd Lionel Arnold. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. M. M. O'Loughlin at St. Mary's Cathedral, Hobart. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Atkins, Park St, New Town, and the bridegroom is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Arnold, Elphinstone Rd., North Hobart. Mr. Atkins gave away his daughter.

The bride's frock was designed with a high neckline, fitted bodice, Mary Stuart sleeves, and a front panel which finished with a rounded effect on the slightly flared skirt. Her veil of fine net embroidered in an orange blossom design was confined to the head by orange blossom, and her shower bouquet was of white tiger lilies. She was attended by two bridesmaids dressed in ice blue embossed taffeta, with picture hats of the same material. They were Misses Nance Livingston and Marie Foster. Their gored frocks, which had short sleeves, moulded the figure to the low hipline, and flowed out into full skirts. Their hats, which had inverted flower-pot crowns and drooped brims, were worn on the back of the head, and were trimmed with similar flowers to those in their bouquets of deep pink miniature dahlias. Mr. C. Cannan was best man, and Mr. T. Lonergan was groomsman. The usher was Mr. B. Foster. Mr. T. Howe was organist.

A reception was held at Highfield Hotel, where about 40 guests were entertained. Mrs. Atkins wore a burgundy ensemble of lightweight wool, a matching felt hat trimmed with a touch of pink, and a fur necklet of stonemarten. Her posy was in pink tonings. The bridegroom's mother wore a nigger brown pencil-striped costume featuring the modish long coat. Her hat and accessories were brown, and her bouquet was in Autumn shades. When the bride left the reception she was wearing a smart black pencil-striped coat and skirt, a high-necked white lace blouse, silver fox furs, and a high crowned hat of black velour.

Mr. and Mrs. Arnold will reside in Hobart. [5]
